MHIMA 2020 Annual Meeting & COVID-19 Update
Over the last few weeks, the MHIMA Board of Directors has been actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and its impact to the local and national landscape. Due to the ongoing and unprecedented changes, the Board has made the difficult decision to transition our 2020 Annual Meeting from an in-person event to hosting the meeting in a virtual format. We apologize greatly for any inconvenience this may cause you, but the health and well-being of all attendees is MHIMA’s top priority. It is heartbreaking to know that we will not see everyone, catch up with old friends, make new friends, celebrate achievements, or network with each other in person, but with a different platform, we can still offer CEU’s and be together in spirit!
The Annual Meeting Planning committee is actively working to coordinate and bring to you the same expert content, just in a more flexible format. This includes reaching out to our entire agenda of speakers to include recordings from both our general session and breakout sessions. This will allow you the ability to watch the recording at your convenience in the safety, coronavirus-free environment of your work or home. The Marketing & Communications committee is also actively working with our exhibitors to explore ways they can participate by offering additional presentations and incentives.
We appreciate your understanding around making this decision. It was not easy. We greatly appreciate your patience as we work out these details for our virtual meeting.
Whether or not you have already registered for the Annual Meeting, please watch for additional communications regarding the refund process and/or instructions for registering for the virtual meeting.
Hotel reservations can now be cancelled by calling Treasure Island Resort & Casino at 1-800-222-7077.
While this is not the anticipated outcome, the Board is looking at this COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity to still be able to provide educational offerings to our members. We hope you will join us for this new and exciting adventure of utilizing technology to make the 2020 Annual Meeting, now virtual, a success!
