Melissa Cartier, RHIT, CCS-P
Melissa Cartier, RHIA, CCS-P has been in the health care field for nearly 15 years. In that time, she has gained experience in multiple areas of both large and small care delivery organizations, including provider and coder training and education, denials management, and EHR process improvement. In her current role as a Provider Data Quality Analyst at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota she is responsible for network data management and analysis, and support of both Commercial and Government programs. She has previous experience as an adjunct instructor at both St. Paul College and Anoka Technical College and is an AHIMA Mentor.
Katie O’Hearn, MS, RHIA, CCS-P, CRC
Katie O’Hearn, MS, RHIA, CCS-P, CRC, is an accomplished Health Information Management professional, educator and speaker. She has experience in a variety of areas including Risk Adjustment, Medicare Star Ratings, Evaluation and Management usage analysis, denials and documentation improvement. Her focus is on provider and coder education from the Professional Fee perspective. As the Provider Education Program Manager at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, she creates interactive learning content and delivers education sessions focusing on Risk Adjustment documentation and coding best practices. She is an adjunct instructor in the Health Information Technology/Medical Coding Programs at both Anoka Technical College and St. Cloud Technical and Community College.
