MNHIMA September Roundtable: CPT E&M Update for 2021

The Coding Roundtables are free events for MNHIMA members only and are meant to provide an interactive environment of collaboration and education.  If you have particular coding questions or cases of interest for a future roundtable, please submit them to Regina Kraus at rkraus@purdueglobal.edu.  Please include as much detail as possible and ensure that the case is free of protected health information (PHI).  There is NO advance registration for the roundtables. We encourage you to add the date and time of each roundtable to your individual calendar, and then copy/paste the instructions from MNHIMA’s eAlerts.

The topic for this month’s roundtable will focus on CPT Evaluation & Management Updates for 2021.


Regina Kraus is a current adjunct instructor for several on-line BSHIM programs teaching a variety of courses including Medical Coding, Project Design and Management, Legal Studies, Human Resources in HIM, as well as Introduction to Computers and Quality Management.  She has over 26 years of experience in healthcare administration and management, concentrating mainly in the behavioral health field managing both inpatient psychiatric and mental health clinic programs.  Her education includes a master’s and bachelor’s degrees in healthcare administration as well as an associate degree in Health Information Technology.  Certifications include her RHIA, with a previous RHIT, as well as her CDIP.  She is also an AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer, serves as a Quality Matters™, Higher education Peer Reviewer, and holds the Billing and Coding Specialist certification (BCSC) from the AMCA.

She currently serves on the MNHIMA Board as a member of the Audit Committee and is co-chair for the Coding & Quality KFA.  She was recently elected to serve as a Commissioner for CCHIIM (certification for health information and informatics) through AHIMA.
