MHIMA August Roundtable

MNHIMA will be holding a Coding Roundtable on Wednesday, August 26th at 12:00p.m. The coding roundtable will be hosted by Barb Miller, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, AHIMA-Approved Revenue Cycle Trainer. Barb is a Hospital Outpatient Coder for North Memorial Hospital. She brings coding, auditing, and teaching experience as well as coding experience in inpatient, outpatient, professional, clinic, and various other types of hospital and clinic encounters.
The topic for the roundtable will be COVID-19 diagnosis coding. The Coding KFA needs coding cases related to this topic. If you have particular cases of interest or questions regarding how to apply COVID-19 diagnostic codes or reporting guidelines, please submit them to Regina Kraus at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include as much detail as possible and ensure that the case is free of protected health information (PHI). We are looking forward to the discussion around this topic!
Barb Miller is a Hospital Outpatient Coder for North Memorial Hospital. She has worked in the HIM profession for 23 years and has spoken at the AHIMA Convention & Exhibit Clinical Coding Meeting and the MHIMA Annual Conference. She volunteers with MHIMA and has held volunteer positions with AHIMA. She brings coding, auditing, and teaching experience and has coding experience in inpatient, outpatient, professional, clinic, and various other types of hospital and clinic encounters. She has held positions as a 3M Nosologist Services Analyst, Operations Manager, Coding Validation Assistant Manager, Coding Validation Specialist, RAC Team Lead, DRG Auditor, Hospital and Clinic Coding Supervisor, Traveling Medical Coding, Coding Program Director and Instructor, Inpatient and Outpatient Hospital Coder, Professional ED Coder, Clinic Coder, and an Emergency Medical Technician. Barb graduated in 1997 with an AAS Degree in Health Information Technology from Rasmussen College in St. C loud, Minnesota.
