Coding Technician II – Remote

Introduction:
St. Luke’s Hospital of Duluth is seeking a full-time Emergency Department coder with 2+ years of facility and professional Emergency Department coding.
Job Description:
The Coding Technician II accurately selects and sequences diagnosis and procedure codes using the current version of ICD and CPT, which reflect the status of a patient during an encounter. Additional responsibilities include APC review and validation utilizing encoder and follow-up, data entry into MediTech.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Two (2) years of facility and professional emergency department coding. Passing score on the coding test administered during the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification, or RHIT or RHIA.
