    • The Minnesota Health Information Management Association (MHIMA) is the state association of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Founded in 1935, MHIMA continues to be a premier association of health information management (HIM) professionals.

    We are committed to advancing the HIM profession in an increasingly electronic and global environment through leadership, education and best practices.



    The MHIMA Nominating Committee, chaired by Sue Jensen, Past President, is seeking nominations for the 2012 MHIMA election ballot for the following positions:

  • President-Elect: This is a three-year commitment, and the nominee must have been a MHIMA board member within the last five years, or a MHIMA committee chair within the last three years, or active in an AHIMA volunteer role within the last three years.

  • Delegate Director: This is a two-year commitment, and there are two positions open on the 2012 ballot. The nomineee must have been a MHIMA committee chair, held another elected office, or have been a regional officer within the last three years.

  • Secretary: This is a one-year commitment.

  • Audit Committee: This is a two-year commitment and there are two positions open on the 2012 ballot.

    All nominees must be active MHIMA members with an AHIMA-approved credential. The election will occur in March 2012 and the elected positions take office on July 1, 2012.

    If you are interested, or if you want to recommend someone for consideration, please contact Sue Jensen no later than January 27, 2012.

    The MHIMA Nominating Committee is also seeking your recommendations for an individual deserving of being recognized as MHIMA's 2012 Distinguished Member. This is a way to recognize excellence within our association. The 2012 Distinguished Member will be celebrated on April 26, 2012, at our 2012 Annual Meeting. Submit names of nominees by completing the Candidate Profile for Distinguished Member by February 17, 2012, and email to Sue Jensen, chair of the 2012 Nominating Committee.
